Monarch is beautiful solid black mare with quiet disposition. She is by Linnel Rapier II, a very successful stallion in terms of performance records (including Olympia). She also has somewhat of a unique pedigree (a good thing in a small gene pool!), with her sire being by Linnel Romany Boy, whom like his son achieved great success in the show ring. She is also a direct descendent of one of the first Fell ponies exported to North America in the 1930's, Linnel Frivolity. Unfortunately, Frivolity seems to have been lost to follow-up in North America, but had progeny in the UK before she was exported which thus continued her famous line.
