Hadley is a very special lass, and was was essentially a gift to us! Her mother, Raisburn Lettie II was leased to us by her owner, Judith Bean-Calhoun. Judith, a driving expert, is from Cumbria but now lives in Maine. Lettie was never bred before coming here but, despite being a 13 year-old maiden mare, easily conceived and produced a foal by Waverhead Model IV. She was a wonderful mother, and has now returned to her life of dressage and driving back in Maine. Hadley seems to have brought out the best of both her parents, and is a lovely pony. She is very compact with a neat, "pony" head, great bone, profuse, silky feathering and an abundant mane. She has correct conformation with a nice neck, an excellent shoulder with matching sloping pasterns, great feet and beautiful movement. Her name is from the Old English "heather meadow" or "field of heather". (If you've ever been to Cumbria and seen many fell-sides cloaked in heather, you'll know the name is very fitting for a Fell pony!) For more information, contact us.
